From March 30 to April 1, Hydrospace Group will attend the Canadian Underwater Conference & Exhibition in Vancouver, where industry professionals will discuss all aspects of onshore and offshore underwater and hyperbaric industries. Topics include occupational diving, scientific and engineering diving, military and emergency response diving, oil and gas, health and safety, hyperbaric operations, construction, tunneling, and submersibles. On March 13th, 2025, Hydrospace Group hosted its first open house at its new facility, welcoming customers, vendors, friends, and family. From March 1st to March 6th, William Kohnen, CEO of Hydrospace Group, attended the Spring PVHO Committee meeting in Aberdeen, Scotland. The meeting was help at the JFD National Hyperbaric Centre (NHC). This gathering brought together industry professionals from USA and UK, all committed to advancing safety standards in Pressure Vessels for Human Occupancy (PVHO). Participants engaged in discussions on the latest updates to the national standard in dedication to maintaining the highest safety standards. The event also provided a platform for fostering new cross-Atlantic connections within the subsea community, ensuring continued collaboration and progress in the field.

Hydrospace Group is honored to have sponsored the 21st Annual Submarine Symposium, which welcomed 150 attendees from 12 countries to connect, learn, and inspire following a landmark year. The symposium served as a global hub for submarine professionals dedicated to advancing innovation, strengthening industry standards, and prioritizing safety in subsea exploration. Participants delved into the latest developments, exchanged invaluable insights, and fostered lasting connections within the subsea community.
William Kohnen underscores the vital need for rigorous safety standards, industry regulations, and third-party validation in the submersible industry, particularly after the June 2023 OceanGate Titan tragedy. In his article, he highlights the impressive safety record maintained through collaboration among regulatory bodies, classification societies, and organizations like the Marine Technology Society (MTS) and the World Submarine Organization (WSO). As the industry expands, he advocates for establishing universal operational standards to ensure the continued safety and innovation of ocean exploration.

In an interview following the Titan submersible tragedy in June 2023, William Kohnen, CEO of Hydrospace Group, stressed the need for stricter safety standards and certification in the submersible industry. He highlighted how Titan’s design flaws and lack of certification led to its failure, emphasizing the importance of long-established safety protocols that have kept the industry remarkably safe since the 1970s.

Shark Week’s crew set out to uncover the Great White Shark’s breeding zone but faced challenges like keeping divers safe near the elusive predators.
